Help, The Extract Has Gone in My Photoshop CS4!

// June 25th, 2009 // No Comments » // cool stuff!

Your crying for help has been heard. Here’s the solution you need.

Those who just transferred their work from previous version of Photoshop into newest CS4 might have been confused that there are several plug-ins and preset that have gone missing. Prominently the function of extract under filters menu that has disappeared along transition from predecessor CS3 to present CS4. Fear no more, these missing plug-ins and presets can be downloaded and installed individually or you may find them in your Goodies folder on your DVD install disc. If you don’t have any, here is the link to download the file:

http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4048

This download includes 32-bit and 64-bit plug-ins for Photoshop CS4 English, Spanish and French versions. The following plug-ins and associated files are included in this package:

• Bigger Tiles
• Picture Package (ContactSheetII)
• ExtractPlus
• PatternMaker
• PhotomergeUI
• Web Photo Gallery (WebContactSheetII) plus presets
• script for Layer Comps to Web Photo Gallery
• Texture presets for Texturizer

Also included is the Optional Plug-Ins ReadMe.

After extracting the file, be sure to copy and paste individual item into its destination folder in your hard disk as need arises.

For example: You will find ExtractPlus under folder:

Adobe CS4 > Photoshop Content > English > Goodies > Optional Plug-ins > Plug-ins 32bit > Filters

Copy and paste the file into:

Program Files > Adobe > Adobe Photoshop CS4 > Plug-ins > Filters

You may copy and paste both ExtractPlus.8BF and PatternPlus.8BF which located in the same source and destination folder. In this example, I work under 32bit and English interface. For fear of redundancy, there is an assumption though that those files that haven’t been included in CS4 original package are candidates for removal in next coming up version. Let see what happen next.

Cheers!
